- Senator Shehu Sani promised that the rest of the abducted Chibok girls will be released soon
- He said the government took the best course of action in exchanging the terrorists for the girls
Senator Shehu Sani has revealed that the rest of the abducted Chibok girls would be released soon to re-join their loved ones.
Daily Trust reports that the senator gave this assurance during the opening ceremony of the 2017 Nigeria International Book Fair.
Sani said the federal government was working tirelessly to see to the release of the rest of the girls kidnapped by the dreaded Boko Haram sect.
He called on Nigerians to understand that the method used by the government that led to the release of 82 girls was the best option.
The 82 girls were released on Saturday, May 6 after they were exchanged for five Boko Haram terrorists although this exchange was criticised by some Nigerians.
"The negotiation settled for the swap than paying huge some of money as ransom. The decision taken was the best and of lesser consequence.
"The U.S swapped with the Taliban,Israel swapped with Hamas; The first priority of a hostage situation is securing their freedom."
