Federal Government not ready to try Nnamdi Kanu - Lawyer

- The lawyer to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu has said that the federal government is not ready for trial

- Ifeanyi Ejiofor said the federal government has not concrete case against his client

- Ejiofor made the said this after a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja granted Kanu bail

The lawyer to the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra Nnamdi Kanu has said that the federal government is not ready to try his client.

Speaking to NAIJ.com, Ifeanyi Ejiofor said all evidence before the court shows that the Nigerian government has nothing concrete against Kanu.

Ejiofor said: "Of all the charges left against Nnamdi Kanu, there is no substantive evidence before the court on them."

He said the charge are all watery and the federal government are not ready for the trial.

Recall that the IPOB leader was granted bail by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Nyako in her ruling ordered Kanu to make available three sureties with a bail bond of N100 million each.

The IPOB leader is also expected not to grant any press interview or appear in a gathering of more that 10 people when he is released.

Meanwhile, many Nigerians including the IPOB and the senior lawyers have condemned the conditions listed by the court.

They argued that the conditions are stringent and goes contrary to the purpose of granting an accused person bail as provided by the Constitution.
