Who is ruling Nigeria? Omokri reacts to expulsion of journalist from Aso Rock

Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan has expressed deep concern over reports that the presidency was not informed before a journalist was sent packing from the Presidential Villa on Monday, April 24.

Legit.ng recalls that Olalekan Adetayo, a Punch correspondent, was expelled from the Presidential Villa on Monday, April 24 afternoon by President Muhammadu Buhari’s Chief Security Officer (CSO) Bashir Abubakar Bindawa.

Adetayo was sent packing over a story he wrote on the president's health.

His tag was seized before he was subsequently driven out of the State House.

Omokri said it was worrying that the Presidency was claiming lack of knowledge of the matter when they were supposed to be in charge.

He then wondered who was in charge of ruling the country if a CSO could take such a big decision without the Presidency knowing.

Omokri then tweeted:

Legit.ng gathered that this Omokri tweet is in reference to reports that in his reaction to his suspension by President Buhari on Wednesday, April 19, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babchir Lawal told reporters who asked him for comments to ask the “presidency” why he was suspended.

In an encounter with reporters shortly after his suspension was announced, a clearly shocked Lawal stalled on all the questions he was asked.

While he was informed that his suspension was announced by the presidency, Babachir retorted: “Who is the presidency?”
