Nigerian army arrests three foreign Boko Haram members

Legit.ng gathered that the Nigerian army has arrested three Chadians in connection with terrorism in the north-east.

In as a statement by the army spokesperson of the 28 Task Force Brigade, Mubi, Akinloye Badare, the Chadians were arrested in a foiled terrorist attack between Borno and Adamawa states’ border.

According to him, the troops foiled the attacks of the insurgents on Madagali town in Adamawa; and Limankara village in Borno state.

“The arrested three were Chadian Boko Haram terrorists,” he said.

Going further, Badare said that there was an exchange of gunshots for about two hours before the attacks could be prevented.

He also said in the statement that before the attempted attacks, “troops of 192 Battalion 26 Task Force killed six Boko Haram terrorists in clearance operations at Dissa and Patawe villages of Borno state.”

Legit.ng learnt that Limankara is a border village with Camero and 151 kilometres south of Maiduguri, the state capital.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng also reported that two army general yesterday escaped death.

Major General IM Alkali, the Chief of Administration (Army), and the Acting General Officer Commanding 7 Division Nigerian Army, Brigadier General VO Ezugwu's convoy encountered and cleared 4 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) buried by suspected elements of Boko Haram terrorists along their way from Bama to Gwoza at about 10.00am on Saturday April 22.

They encountered the 4 clustered IEDs buried at a crossing point along Banki Junction and Pulka road, about 6 kilometres to Firgi in Borno state.

The Explosive Ordinance Device team however, were able to quickly detect the deadly IEDs and safely extracted and detonated them.
