President Buhari constitutes board of solid minerals development fund

- President Muhammadu Buhari approves 7 appointees for the constitution of the board of solid minerals development fund

- The board is chaired by Uba Malami from Nasarawa state, a geologist and former vice-president of the Abuja chambers of commerce

- Members of the board include Demola Gbadegesin, a mining investor and electrical engineer from Oyo, Theo Iseghohi, managing director of Nishan Industries Limited, who hails from Edo and others

President Muhammadu Buhari approved the constitution of the board of solid minerals development fund on Thursday, April 20, in Abuja.

A statement by the ministry of mines and steel development said Mr Buhari charged the seven-member board to carry out its duties diligently, The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

The statement signed by the permanent secretary in the ministry, Mohammed Abbas, said the members of the board are:

1. Uba Malami from Nasarawa state, a geologist and former vice-president of the Abuja chambers of commerce, as chairman.

2. Demola Gbadegesin, a mining investor and electrical engineer from Oyo state

3. Theo Iseghohi, Managing Director of Nishan Industries Limited, who hails from Edo

4. Eze, an accountant and former banker from Ebonyi state

5. Fatima Shinkafi, a chemist from Zamfara

6. Uwatt Bassey Uwatt from Akwa Ibom and

7. Yinka Mubarak.

In another news, Legit.ng reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointments of three executives for the Nigeria Export-Import Bank.

According to a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday evening, April 20, by the director of press and public relations in the office of the secretary to the government of the federation, Bolaji Adebiyi, the president approved Abubakar Abba Bello as the new managing director and chief executive of Nigeria Export-Import Bank.

Others appointed for NEXIM Bank are Dr. Bala Mohammed Bello as executive director, corporate services and Stella Okotete as executive director, business development.
