Disaster was averted on the Third mainland bridge on Monday, April 17 after fire broke in the cables on the bridge.
NAIJ.com gathered that it took the quick intervention of combined officials of the Federal Road Management Agency (FERMA) and the electricity generation companies (Gencos) to stop the fire from getting bigger.
The Rapid Response Squad unit of the Lagos State Police Command confirmed the incident by tweeting real-time pictures on Monday.
Due to the Easter holidays, the ever-busy bridge was largely empty, making the job slightly easier for the officials.
