- The reason job seekers reduced in Kaduna state has been revealed
- Investigation revealed that technology has played a vital role in the reduction
NAIJ.com's investigation has revealed that the number of job seekers who used to throng an ever busy post office along Yakubu Gowon way in Kaduna state has drastically reduced.
The post office was known to be the place where both graduates and under graduates normally visit to read job advertisement and search for jobs on a daily basis.
NAIJ.com reporter, Bashir Ahmed’s visit to post office on April 3, revealed that the number of people he met were very few, considering the crowd that used to grace the place for job advertisements.
He said he met with some of the job hunters and three of them shared their experiences while hunting for jobs.
He said: “One James said he has been coming to post office for the past three years to search for job but was not successful; he said he is now working on one project and has reached 60% but because of financial constraint he has to stop.
When asked how will he compare the number of people that used to visit post office in the last 2 years and now, James said the number really decreased because before some people have to wait for others to finish reading the job adverts before they could also have the chance to read, but now you can read the job adverts with ease because there is less crowd.
Another job seeker, Grace who said this is her first time of visiting post office was full of hope that see would soon find her dreamed job.
Also, another job seeker who preferred to remain anonymous said he had been visiting the post office for the past three months in search of job and that “both people I have interviewed said they heard people got job through post office adverts and that is why they are also hoping that one day they will also be successful.”
A newspaper vendor who said he has been doing business in front of post office for the past three years also said that number of job hunters that used to visit post office have really reduced.
