Mercy Johnson sworn in as SSA to Kogi governor (photos)

Award winning Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson Okojie was sworn in as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on entertainment, arts and culture to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state on Monday, April 3.

Mercy Johnson Okojie who was appointed as the senior special assistant on entertainment, arts and culture to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state , has been sworn-in today.

She was sworn alongside 53 other people.

Speaking during the inauguration of the 54 senior and special assistants, Governor Bello warned the appointees not to see their appointments as an opportunity to enrich themselves.

He said his administration was determined to go after those who stole from the nation’s treasury in past years and recover such loot.

We must go after them to recover the looted fund for use of the common people in the state,” Bello stated.

Legit.ng recalls that Mercy joined the long list of Nollywood stars who have been involved in government following her appointment three weeks ago.

In a vote of thanks, the Nollywood actress who hails from Okene local government area of the state commended the governor for being gender sensitive.

She said Bello has united the people of the state ever than before through people oriented policies and programmes.

Reacting to the appointments, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) National Youth Frontier (NYF) frowned at it, describing the appointments as irrational, uncoordinated, a waste of public funds, and wanton disservice to the state.
