A protesting group has occupied the Abuja office of the Amnesty International.

The group have also started cooking their meals - noodles and boiled yam - in front of the office, Legit.ng can authoritatively report.

The group, Global Peace and Life Rescue Initiative (GOPRI) on Tuesday, March 21, said its members will not leave the arena until AI leaves Nigeria.

The protesters in their scores commenced the protest on Monday, March 20, after it issued a seven-days ultimatum to AI to leave Nigeria.

The group accused the international organization of fabricating reports to paint the Nigerian government and its military in bad light.

The group who in their thousands were observed cooking noodles said the human rights organization was undermining the security of the Nigerian nation.

Speaking during the second day of the protest, the executive director of GPORI Melvin Ejeh said, the protest which is continuous will continue tomorrow.

He said the group members will converge at the AI's office again on Wednesday, March 22, until the human rights organization leaves Nigeria.

Ejeh also urged more Nigerians to come out en mass to eject the organization he described as "enemies of Nigeria".

He also decried what he termed as the continuous attempt by AI to portray Nigeria as a country without respect for human rights.

He said over the years, Nigerians have watched as the Amnesty International tries to give the country a bad reputation internationally, saying that Nigerians now know the true motive of the organisation.

Meanwhile, the protesters who enjoyed the launched during the protesters carried placards reading

The protesters carried various placards with inscriptions such as "Amnesty leave our country in peace or in pieces," Amnesty international, you freeze when terrorists kill us," "enough is enough" "Amnesty international, we know your mission"
