Conference of Nigerian Political Parties has backed the Action Congress of Nigeria’s candidate for the October 20 in Ondo State, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, to claim victory in the poll.
A statement by Akeredolu Campaign Organisation said the Publicity Secretary of CNPP, Chief Osita Okechukwu, communicated the support of the conference to Akeredolu on Sunday.
The ACO quoted Okechukwu as saying that the group had been directed to support Akeredolu during the election.
He said, “Edo people were in slavery before Oshiomhole liberated them. From indications the people massive call for regime change due to Mimiko’s failure to meet the people’s expectations is welcome.
“Akeredolu like Oshiomhole, has the same pedigree to turn things around for the better. We have advised our members to support regime change in Ondo given the track record of ACN governors.”
The ACO expressed happiness about the CNPP’s support, saying Akeredolu would not disappoint the people of the state.
“He his committed to pursuing programmes for sustainable development and transformation of this state. We call on the good people of Ondo State to follow their resolve to send Governor Olusegun Mimiko packing. Akeredolu is a man of honour and pedigree, he deserves your vote,” it said.
