NAF holds first quarter 2017 route march exercise (photos)

– The Nigerian Air Force held its first quarter route march exercise on Saturday, March 18

– The exercise is a quarterly routine aimed at keeping the personnel of NAF fit and for bonding

– It is also aimed at enhancing the physical and mental alertness of officers and men of NAF

The Nigerian Air Force on Saturday, March 18, held its first quarter route march exercise for the year 2017 in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The exercise kicked off from Mogadishu Military Cantonment (MMC) Parade Ground at 6am going to Niger Barracks and back to MMC.

NAIJ.com observed that virtually all ranks of NAF were represented at the exercise including members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Saddique Abubakar was also present and he participated in all the activities.

Speaking at the end of the exercise, the CAS said the routine march is important for the personnel of NAF.

His words: ''Today's challenges are very complex and complicated. It does not only require a sound mind, it equally requires a sound body.

''As a service, we have done our best in ensuring peace everywhere in Nigeria. We want to assure Nigerians that we will continue to work round the clock to ensure that our societies are secured, our communities are safe and Nigerians can go about their normal businesses without fear.''

He assured the personnel that NAF will provide their welfare within its available resources, adding that it is expected that every personnel will contribute to the development, security and stability of Nigeria.

He also reiterated that all NAF personnel are expected to have total loyaty to the president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buharu.

Meanwhile, NAF is set to hold the 2017 edition of its Combat Sports Competition in Jos, Plateau state.

This was made known by Air Commodore Ayodele Dudusola, the chairman of the organising committee of the competition, at a press briefing on Thursday, March 16 at the NAF headquarters in Abuja.

According to Dudusola, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Saddique Abubakar approved the second edition of the Inter Command Combat Sports Competition based on the interest shown by NAF officers and men in the first edition, which was held in Kaduna state in 2016.
