Boko Haram attacks Borno community; houses burnt

There are reports that Boko Haram terrorists launched a deadly attack on communities in Borno leading to the death of many people.

According to The Cable, the attack took place at Magumeri local government area of the state with many reported dead according to a witness who managed to escape the deadly attack.

He said some of the people who also escaped where on their way to Maiduguri while others have fled to the bush.

It was reported that houses were being set on fire by the terrorists.

“Most part of the town have been torched, while smoke was seen billowing over the area where the police station is.

“I can’t give the number of casualty, but many must have been killed by the terrorists.”

There was claim that the army was informed of the imminent attack but nothing was done about it.

A military source said he was on his way to Magumeri to ascertain the situation.

Meanwhile, A statement issued by the Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Usman, suggests that troops of 151 Task Force Battalion, 21 Brigade, Nigerian Army on Operation Lafiya Dole, while on fighting patrol, ambushed the terrorists at Borno state College of Business Studies (BOCCOS) along Bama-Ngurosoye road.

Troops of 151 Task Force Battalion, 21 Brigade, Nigerian Army on Operation LAFIYA DOLE yesterday evening while on fighting patrol, ambushed some fleeing Boko Haram terrorists at Borno State College of Business Studies (BOCCOS) along Bama-Ngurosoye road, Borno State.
