Amaechi Orders Investigation Into Killing Of ‘Uniport 4′ 4 years ago 3

Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has ordered a full scale investigation into the killing of four students of the University of Port Harcourt at Aluu community in Ikwerre local government area of the state.

The students were allegedly beaten to death, after being paraded naked by youths of the community who accused them of stealing laptops and handsets.

The Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs. Ibim Seminatari, announced this yesterday in Port Harcourt while briefing newsmen on the outcome of an emergency meeting of the state executive council.

Seminatari assured that all those behind the killing of the students would be fished out and made to face the wrath of the law.

She also announced the setting up of a 12-man flood response committee, chaired by the deputy governor, Engr. Tele Ikuru, to put in place measures that would guarantee the safety of those affected by flood in Ahoada-West, Ahoada-East, and Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni local government areas of the state.

The commissioner explained that investigations have shown that over one hundred communities were affected by flood in the state, hence the need for government to constitute a committee to review the issues and bring succour to those ravaged by the flood. Home Page
