The APC NEWS TV, in revealing the official trip, said: “The Ag president, His Excellency, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, will be visiting Akwa Ibom state on Thursday, 2nd March, 2017 for a town hall meeting with the stakeholders, political class, as well as other well-meaning personalities in the state.”

It is yet to be known the number of days the president is to spend in the state.

In a recent interview, High Chief Mike Loyibo, the convener of the Niger Delta Peoples Congress (NDPC), revealed that Osinbajo’s tour of the region has necessitated the much-needed peace in the region.

“When we assess the issues generally, my view has been that you can’t develop the Niger-Delta without her people’s participation and this is the first time that any government ever is involving the critical stakeholders at all levels and so the consultation is a continuous one.
