Nigeria Won’t Be Turned To War Zone – Tukur 4 years ago 0

National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji  Bamanga Tukur, has said that the party would not sit and watch the country being turned into a war zone.

This is just as he admonished the people of Adamawa State to be more vigilant and aggressive in securing their environments from those he described as agents of the devil.

Tukur who stated this  in a chat with correspondents in Abuja at the weekend, enjoined security operatives not to relent until they fish out the perpetrators of the dastard act.

“We will not fold our hands and watch Nigeria turned into a war zone. We will not allow any strange war to afflict us. When strange things like these are happening, it demands that we all pray to Allah for a way out, while we put heads together to find common solutions.

“From the reports reaching me, the security operatives have been performing excellently. I urge them not to relent until these insensitive and heartless people are fished out. I am optimistic that we will regain our peace as a nation. We will work hard for it”, he said.

He said President Goodluck Jonathan and leaders of the PDP regarded the incident in Mubi as a national calamity and had not been relenting in finding lasting solutions to the problem of insurgencies by those he described as faceless groups against the country.

According to him, the new measure by the Federal Government for containing insurgencies in all parts of Nigeria was quite re-assuring as he enlisted the support of all Nigerians in fighting homicide crimes in all parts of the country.

The PDP chairman  described the killing of defenceless students in Mubi as heart breaking, stating that, “I am sad that a generation of promising Nigerians and the country’s future leaders could be wiped out by thoughtless and heartless individuals.” Home Page
