Nigeria To Have Regular Power Supply Soon – Labaran Maku 4 years ago 1


Minister for information, Honourable Labaran Maku, has assured that Nigeria will soon achieve its goal of having regular and uninterrupted power supply very soon.

He also said that Nigeria was working hard to achieve this so as to further catch the attention of foreign investors that might want to do business in the country.

Addressing thousands of Nigerians on Saturday during the Nigeria’s Independence March in New York City, Minister Labaran Maku hinted that the Goodluck Jonathan-led administration is building 10 Power Plants across the country in order to stop irregular power supply.

Speaking on education, the Information Minister said that the federal government would do everything to restore credibility back to the education system of the country.

“The government in Nigeria has passion for education. We want to ensure that every child has a qualitative education so we are investing in education especially the primary school education in order to achieve the standard that the America has in the area of education” he said. 

Also, Hon. Labaran Maku said that the federal government has concluded the arrangements to restore infrastructure and revatalize the Railways, noting that there will be a train shuttling between Lagos and Kano states as from the begining of year 2013. “We are also working on the trains that will be travelling within other zones” he added.

On economy, the Minister said that the federal government is reforming the country’s economy in order to meet up with international standard, stressing that Nigeria will surely be the best economy in Africa by the year 2025.

He however called on all Nigerians living in other parts of the world to emulate the ones living in the United States, saying that they are the brightest people in the world. Home Page
