Nigerian youth condemns BBNaija over indecent exposures

- A Nigerian youth, Ovie Success Ossai, has condemned the indecent show being displayed on BBNaija for the Nigerian audience

- Ossai, an aide to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state, frowns at the show, saying it is promoting immoral practice among Nigerian youths

- He said rather than give attention to such shows where people show their body to the world and go home with millions, Nigerians should promote issues that can benefit national life

Delta born blogger and aide to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state, Ovie Success Ossai, has condemned BBNIAJA over what he described as public show of prostitution.

Ossai told Legit.ng in Asaba that: "Since BBNAIJA came into the scene after some years, it has influenced Nigerians very negatively most especially the Nigerian youths on immoral relationships.”

He said considering the unholy displays and shows on BBNaija, Nigerians youths have been badly influenced, a development which he said has the tendency of affecting students and taking the precious time that could have invested into studying their books.

He said: “If only there could be an educating version of BBNAIJA, if only they could house intelligent scholars, and make them compete for similar prizes, I wouldn’t have condemned it. But the whole thing is touching the base nature of man and it’s actually not the best for our Nigerian audience.

“Today, China and other countries are deliberating on how to impact positively on their country, Nigerians are busy debating the immorality of BBNAIJA.

“The best in Mathematics competitions walks home with ridiculous stipends and laughable prizes, while those in BBNAIJA earn millions for coming to show their body to the world, speak thrash, and display indecency on international televisions, it's shame to Nigeria.

“How do we expect to have intelligent youths as leaders tomorrow when our leaders do not encourage intelligent and hardworking people?

“When last did we watch intellectual competition with millions of prizes? When last did we see our children debating on issues of value to national life on national televisions? When last did we promote intelligence and hardworking Nigerians on our national televisions?

Ovie, who is the youngest appointee in the Governor’s administration in Delta, said with the situation in the situation in the country at present, it may be difficult to produce great Nigerians as Okonjo Iweala, Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and a host of other Nigerians who have made significant progress and contributions to national and international development.
