The dark cloud of rain gathering over the missing 500 cows belonging to Fulani herdsmen in Oyo state may give way to a rain of trouble.

Taming the Fulani herdsmen in the nation had been problematic for the government as the latter are perceived to do more than guiding their animals. The actions of the Fulani men made Apostle Suleman, the founder of Omega Fire Ministries, ask Christians to protect themselves from the numerous attacks they have launched on them.

The disappearance of 500 cows in Oke Ogun area of Oyo state has changed the air over there. Fulani herdsmen are believed to hold their cows in high esteem as they would prefer to get hurt than allow any harm come to the cows.

A missing cow is searched frantically for until it is being found. A sick or dead cow could change the mood of the herdsman as well.

Having to deal with a missing cow is enough wound for a Fulani herdsman, a loss of about 500 cows will not birth anything good for the people in that environment. Already, the Fulani herdsmen have accused the people in that area of stealing their livestock.

The people in that community have been thrown into a wide state of confusion as they know what calamity could befall them with the accusation being made against them.

Check out the things that may happen as a result of the missing 500 cows belonging to Fulani herdsmen in Oyo state:

1. Inter-tribal clash

Many Nigerians believe Fulani herdsmen are not friendly when it comes to issues like this. The missing 500 cows will either be produced by the community or the people around will pay for it.

Oyo state is being dominated by Yorubas; the Fulani herdsmen may feel cheated and strike back. The inter-tribal clash may be severe if nothing is being done concerning the matter.

Already, Chief Oladejo Oladapo, the chairman of the Soludero hunters association and Chief Nureni Ajijola Idris, the president of the association, have urged the Fulani socio-cultural organization not to resort to violence.

2. Scarcity of meat

The role of Fulani herdsmen when it comes to the supply of meat cannot be overemphasized. The meat market is never the same with the absence of the Fulanis.

While in search of the missing 500 cows, the Fulanis have closed down all meat markets in the area as a way of revolting.

The host community has however urged them not to take laws into their hands while a solution is being worked on. The scarcity of meat may go on for as long as possible if the cows remain missing.

3. Untold killings in the state

Those who have lived in the north better than tampering with a Fulani herdsman’s flock. The resulting action is always grave as the herdsmen may set traps that will claim the lives of people in that vicinity.

Remember that they value the cows more than their own lives; what fate could be worse than seeing the cows dead or missing?

4. There will be more rituals and ritualists in Oyo

Already, the missing cows have made the chairman of the Soludero hunters association and the president look for ways of fortifying themselves.

Oladapo revealed that they had to make rituals so that the Fulanis will be robbed of their killing instinct. The rituals will help render the Fulanis harmless so that their killing instinct will not be revived in Oyo state.

Pending how long this issue lasts, Oyo state citizens are ready to make rituals in all corners of the state so that no evil will befall them.

5. People in Oyo state will live in fear

In the absence of the inter-tribal clash, the people living in Oyo will be scared out of their wits. They may live in apprehension for a long time as they will keep wondering what the Fulani herdsmen are up to.

Members of the community may be afraid to walk in some areas as they will not want to go missing too. It is generally believed that Fulani men are unforgiving; the potency of the rituals made to rob them of their killing instinct may never be ascertained.
