Nigeria's former president, Goodluck Jonathan has said Nigeria can never grow with weak institutions.
Jonathan stated this today, February 13, when members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held a meeting at his home in Abuja.
The Strategy Review and and Inter Party Affairs Committee of PDP led by Prof. Jerry Gana held a meeting with the former president where the committee presented the report earlier submitted to the National Caretaker Committee to the former President.
In his remark, the former president welcomed the party members and commended the great job the committee had done.
He also praised the leadership of Senator Ahmed Markafi and his team for their vision to set up the committee.
According to him that is the only way one can strengthen institutions. He said: "I am one person who believes that for a nation to grow institutions must be very strong. There is no way a nation will grow with weak institutions."
He also expressed confidence that the PDP would do better in the next general elections, saying that the loss of power at the centre is only temporary.
