In 2015, Fasola, Nigeria's current minister for Power, Works and Housing said Nigeria was in Darkness because the counytry has incompetent people managing the economy

Babatunde Raji Fashola, former governor and present minister of power, works and housing, during the 7th annual Bola Tinubu colloquium held at Eko Hotel in Lagos on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, lambasted President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration over its incompetence.

The minister said Nigeria was in darkness because there were incompetent people managing the economy.

However, less than two years later, Fashola, who is now the current minister of power, works and housing has not been able to solve the problem of power in Nigeria.

It has also been been argued by many Nigerians that the country enjoyed more electricity supply under Goodluck Jonathan.

This they said was in sharp contrast to Fashola’s claim that Jonathan surrounded himself with incompetent people.

According to Facebook user Tolu Ayeleso, things were better under Jonathan who surrounded himself with incompetent people than Buhari who surrounded himself with experts like Fashola.

“Fashola said Jonathan surrounded himself with imcompetent people, is he not the power minister now? Are things not better in the days of Jonathan than this present time? Don’t we enjoy more electricity supply?” he said.
