JUST IN: Igbobi nurses protest non-payment of December and January salaries (photo)

The National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos is currently in turmoil as nurses working in the hospital have embarked on a protest over the non-payment of their salaries for December 2016 and January 2017.

This was reported by a Twitter user, who tweeted:

The federal hospital founded in 1945 is one of the country's most respected orthopaedic centres.

Meanwhile, the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has embarked on industrial action, which includes a 5-day warning strike.

The lecturers had embarked on the warning strike on Monday, January 30 to protest non-payment of salaries among other issues.

The federal government has responded by saying, the 'No work, No pay' rule would be enforced.
