According to a Gambian newspaper The Point, troops also found that all the air conditioners were loaded with a toxic chemical, which was meant to poison the occupants of any of the rooms.

The deadly chemicals in air conditions and offices were allegedly planted by former President Yahya Jammeh to kill the incoming government led by President Adama Barrow.

The paper added that State Guards officers who were there until Sunday morning are currently being questioned by ECOWAS military officers.

It was gathered that the investigations and other necessary actions are responsible for the delay of the arrival of President Adama Barrow from Senegal.

Recall that there was a standoff as soldiers at the Gambia State House negotiated to hand over to the ECOWAS forces after arrival.

It was reported that luxury items, including carpets and furniture, were stolen at the State House, the sources added.

Guards at statehouse were looting furniture, computers and cars belonging to the state government.
