Being in a position of authority has different meanings to different people. For former President Barack Obama, it was a call to serve. After spending 8 years in the office as the most powerful man in the world, Obama has decided to go back to his old life.
Following the inauguration ceremony of Donald Trump as the United States' president, Obama decided to do so much for himself on his first day as a civilian. He headed to the golf course on his first day as a civilian.
Serving the United States' for that long would drain anyone; it is quite understandable that Obama has decided to make being fit a priority. On his first day after leaving the office, he headed to the Porcupine Creek Golf Club in Rancho Mirage, California on Saturday morning. He played 18 holes that day.
Wearing a light blue Under Armor golf jersey on grey trousers, Obama looked so relaxed going round the golf club. He had a grey baseball cap to match his trousers and rocked the outfit with Nike shoes and socks.
Although he had a handful of secret service agents around, the former president decided to be as free as possible by driving his own golf cart. He stopped for a break during the round and was spotted eating a sandwich.
Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, are currently on vacation in the Palm Springs area. The private golf course which is owned by Larry Ellison, the Oracle billionaire, is ranked as one of the top 20 golf courses in California.
The former president had been there on several occasions and even met King Abdullah II of Jordan there recently. He was hosted by James Costos, the former president's ambassador to Spain.
