Arms scandal suspect Hima Aboubakar allegedly buys N600m property in Prague

Reports in Czechoslovakia (Czech Republic) say that Hima Aboubakar, a Nigerian arms dealer, who is being investigated by local authorities over his part in the arms deal scandal has reportedly bought a luxury flat in the European country.

According to reports on Czech radio station Radio Praha, Aboubakar’s flat is a penthouse located in the luxurious Prague Libenský Ostrov.

Quoting Seznam, Czech’s foremost web portal and search engine, Radio Praha reports that the flat is allegedly worth around 50million crowns (that is 1,959,693.52 dollars) which is around N615,665,030.

Radio Praha says Aboubakar reportedly bought the luxury apartment in 2016 even while under probe of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Aboubakar, the owner of the Societe D’ Equipments Internationaux Nig Ltd or SEI has been accused of taking part in some shady deals.

Aboubakar, a contractor with the Nigerian Airforce (NAF), was at a time accused of giving a gift of N40 million and a car valued at N29.2m to former Air Officer in charge of Tactical Air Command of the Nigerian Airforce in Makurdi, Benue state capital Air Vice Marshal [AVM] Rufus Ojuawo.

The infamous arms deal scandal which occurred under the Goodluck Jonathan administration and was reportedly orchestrated by former national security adviser Sambo Dasuki has remained a recurring issue in the anti-corruption war of the new administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
