Army Remembrance Day! How Aisha Buhari prayed for relatives of fallen heroes

Dame Aisha Buhari on Sunday, January 15, said a prayer for relatives of Nigeria's fallen heroes, soldiers who died in the line of battle, and those who gave their all in service of the nation.

The First Lady rendered the prayers as the country marked the Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

Aisha also prayed that the labours, love and sacrifices of the fallen heroes would never be forgotten.

Vanguard reports that Mrs Buhari, who sent a congratulatory message through her face book page in Abuja, expressed optimism that the time had come when Nigeria would be free from terrorism.

‘’As we remember our fallen heroes today, I pray for those they left behind; our heroes will never be forgotten. ‘’Their labours and sacrifices will not be in vain.

‘’I pray that the time has come when there will be zero terrorism and insurgency in our land.

‘’To our gallant troops who had fought and still fighting to restore peace, I say thank you,’’ she said.

The Federal Government fixed January 15 of every year to remember the soldiers who lost their lives to keep the country.

This year, the date falls on Sunday, but that did not detract from the beauty of the memorial.

Today's celebration follows the laying of wreath by President Muhammadu Buhari, the Senate President Bukola Saraki and the Chief of Army Satff Tukur Buratai on the graves of these fallen soldiers.
