8 major threats to Buhari's presidency in 2017
In 2017, the Buhari's government is willing to improve. There has been a lot of criticism against the government as problems continue to besiege the country.
Here are a list of major threats that might cause problems for Buhari in 2017:
1. Shiite
The Shiites are a group of Muslims who follow the Shia philosophy. The group in Nigeria has had major problems with the Nigerian government.
The Zaria massacre was a massacre carried out by the Nigerian Army in Zaria, Kaduna state, Nigeria on Saturday, December 12, 2015. Up to 348 Shiites, including members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria were killed.
El-Zakzaky, their leader is still under detention and protests have been going on. In 2017, it is highly likely that Shiites will be a big headache to the Kaduna state government and Nigeria as a whole.
2. IPOB
Another major headache that is decades old is the struggle for Biafra. In the past year, the struggle for an independent state by the Igbo people has led to mass protests, killings and international outrage.
Nnamdi Kanu the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been in detention by the Nigerian government, for more than a year and in 2017, it is certain that the struggle for Biafra will be something the government will contend with.

3. Herdsmen
Another security issue the Nigeria government will face in 2017 is the so called 'Fulani herdsmen.' Reports of a group of Fulani herdsmen causing havoc and killing people have been rife in Nigeria.
Southern Kaduna is one of the most recent places where this reports have surfaced and while President Buhari has promised to take strong actions on the matter. 2017 has opened with more deaths caused by this people.
4. Ayo Fayose
This headache is in the form of a single person. the governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose. He has been a fierce critic of President Buhari and his government.
Recently, he lashed out at the government, claiming that the N5,000 the FG claims to have given to the vulnerable and unemployed is a mere propaganda.
In 2017, Ayo Fayose has opened with criticism, and he will be a big problem to the federal government.
5. Recession
Another threat to the Buhari presidency is the economic part. The recession has cast the government in a bad light and in 2016, basic necessities became so expensive, the volatile foreign exchange rate, and a lot of other economic issue led to hardship.
The nation's economy has continued in recession, and conditions remain so challenging with little sign that the economy will exit recession in 2017.

6. APC crisis
Within the All Progressives Congress (APC), there has been a growing sense of distrust, which might affect the President's ability to rule the country properly.
Already, some factions and cabals are fighting for selfish interest and if the party does not get itself together, it will cause major problems in 2017.
7. Prophecies
There have been a lot of prophecies about 2017 for Nigeria and its ruling powers. The amount of prophecies far outnumber the amount of prophets the country has.
If the prophecies are anything to go by, Buhari's health, and the possibility of it failing him this year, 2017 is very large.
8. Niger Delta
The Niger Delta problems continue to plague Nigeria. Though an Upland-based Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate (NDGJM), has taken a break in bombing of oil facilities, the group and other militant groups may stage a comeback if negotiations fail, and their demands are not met. The group, NDGJM, has maintained that its silence does not mean it is dead.
In 2017, we hope the bombing does not plague the Nigerian oil sector.
