Bukola Saraki, ex-governor of Kwara State on Monday afternoon surrendered himself to the police at the Nigerian Police Force Headquarters, Abuja. Following his statement to the press on Saturday, Saraki stated that he would hand himself over to the authorities on Monday.
After being sought by a Special Fraud Unit of the Nigerian Police Force in regards to his alleged misuse of office in obtaining loans worth at least N9 billion, Saraki handed himself over to the authorities as further investigation continue.
The loan is said to have been obtained through the one time Intercontinental Bank via a rather bogus company, Joy Petroleum. Saraki continues to maintain his alien relationship to any such dealings of that nature and with the said company. The SFU has vowed to bring perpetrators to book and remain unhesitant to restrain all involved as investigation progresses.
