President Muhammadu Buhari is reportedly in a meeting with Chief Rotimi Akeredolu, the newly-elected governor of Ondo state, on Wednesday, November 30.
The governor-elect and his deputy, Agboola Ajayi, were sighted at the presidential villa on Wednesday in a visit to the Nigerian president.
Reports say Governor Simon Lalong, the head of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign council in the recently concluded election, took the duo to the office of the president.
Bashir Ahmad, one of President Buhari's aides, also shared a short video of the incoming governor on arrival at the Aso Villa on Wednesday evening.
Akeredolu defeated the other contestants at the Saturday, November 26 governorship election after amassing the highest number of votes and winning in the most local government areas.
As at the time of filing this report, it was not clear what the details of the meeting was, but feelers have it that the governor visited the president to thank him for the massive support during before and during last weekend's election.
Earlier today, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presented Akeredolu with his return certificate of return in Ondo state.
