PDP accuses FG, INEC of rigging Ondo election

- The PDP rejected the ondo election result on the basis that INEC did not postpone it

- The party agent claimed the federal government supported the rigging of he election

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the result of the gubernatorial election in Ondo state after Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress was declared winner.

Prof. Abdul Ganiyu Ambali who is the returning officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Akeredolu winner on Sunday, November 27 at the collation centre in Akure.

Akeredolu had 244,842 while his closest rival, Eyitayo Jegede of the PDP polling 150,380 votes and the Alliance for Democracy candidate, Chief Olusola Oke polled 126, 889.

PDP accuses FG, INEC of rigging Ondo election

The Punch reports that Mr. Ayo Fadaka who is the agent of the PDP expressed disappointment after the results were announced and accused the federal government of colluding with INEC to prevent the PDP from winning.

Fadaka claimed the government opened its vault for the APC to spend recklessly with voters getting as much as N5000 in some polling centres.

The agent noted that Jegede was installed as the PDP chairman a few days before the election and that the electoral body should have postponed the election.

He said INEC had till January to conduct election but rushed to do it to favour the APC.
