Reports credited to The Punch have it that Victor Olabimtan, the director general of the Rotimi Akeredolu campaign organisation in the Ondo state election, has been caught with thumb-printed ballot papers.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign chief was said to have been nabbed on Akungba-Supare Akoko road in Akoko south-west local government area of the state during the conduct of the polls.
The former Speaker of the State House of Assembly however, denied the report in a chat with The Punch correspondent in his hometown.
"It is not true, I never had any encounter with any security men and I will never have encounter with them, I am a law-abiding citizen, I don’t know where the people got their information from," he was quoted to have said.
Mr Olabimtan has further stated that the turnout of the people for the election remains something laudable in spite of the violent build up to the polls.
Meanwhile, unofficial results have started trickling in after voting has ended in most parts of the state and collation commenced.
