Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi west at the National Assembly has been awarded as the most outstanding senator of year 2016.
This was announced on Wednesday, November 23 during a national Assembly press corps award night in Abuja, Nigeria's federal capital.
Melaye, known for his outspoken nature and fearless comments against policies which he deems unfit for the people, was recently at the Havard University to improve on his leadership skills.
He has also been involved in series of altercations with fellow All Progressives Congress (APC) members at the National Assembly and beyond.
But he has now been crowned the most outstanding senator of the year during an awards ceremony in Nigeria's feederal capital, a sign that some of his outbursts were either not seriously considered negative or were not negative in the real sense.
In an exclusive interview with NAIJ.com recently, Melaye revealed that he remains one of the most investigated Nigerians in history yet he has not been indicted of any criminal activity.
Melaye also recently described President Muhammadu Buhari’s medium term expenditure framework and fiscal strategy paper (MTEF) as a fraud.
While passing his damning verdict on the MTEF on Wednesday, November 23, during the Senate’s deliberation on the document, described the document as “a lie, not truthful and is not factual”.
