Ondo Guber Poll: Tinubu Warns Against Rigging, Violence

Lagos - The National Leader of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, yesterday,  warned against  rigging and violence during the October 20 governorship election in Ondo state, saying the consequences of such would be grave.

A statement issued by ACN’s National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, yesterday,  said the National Leader also charged prospective voters in Ondo State to foil the rigging plan of the Labour Party, LP, with determination, adding that power shift will halt the trend of backwardness in the state.

“We know he is buying voters card. We will prevent any form of rigging. Don’t sell your voters  card for a little sum. It is your licence to freedom. It is your instrument for progress. It is the value of your character,” Tinubu said during the party’s governorship candidate’s campaign in Ondo.

Reiterating why Gov. Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State should not get a second term, the former Lagos State Governor said Mimiko has failed the infrastructure battle in the state, hence he should be voted out on October 20. Waving the broom, the party’s symbol, at the crowd who turned out in large numbers at the rally, the National leader urged them to sustain the tempo of  political steadfastness throughout the electioneering period.

The National Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande, presented the flag of victory to the ACN governorship candidate, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, describing him as a better choice for the people of Ondo State.  “Who is that Yoruba man without kith and kin? Where is the kith and kin of Labour Party in the West, North, East and South?’’ Chief Akande queried.

‘’If you ask Aregbesola to point to his kith and kin, he will mention Fashola of Lagos, Amosun in Ogun, Ajimobi in Oyo, and Fayemi in Ekiti. I pray Labour Party will not ruin Ondo State. What I saw yesterday (Tuesday) and today (Wednesday) shows that ACN will win. After the victory, I will return to thank you for listening to good men,” he said.
