The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a Burkinabe and two Nigerians in the Oke Ogun area of the state while conveying substances suspected to be explosives.
Sources revealed that the trio were intercepted by a police patrol team stationed at the border and their attempt to escape was frustrated.
The suspects admitted that the substances were explosives but quickly said that they were meant for use in a company in Lagos. The suspects attempted to bribe the police with N20,000, our correspondent gathered.
Confirming the story, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Musa Kimo, said that it was his Commissioner, Mr. Mbu Joseph Mbu, who could give further details on the matter.
DC Kimo advised LEADERSHIP to get in touch with the state police headquarters today on whether or not the suspects would be moved to Abuja or tried in a court within the state.
