Former Abia State Governor Uzor Kalu on Sunday joined the clamour for a Nigerian president from the South-East in 2015.
He said, “Forty-two years after the civil war, it is an insult for somebody to tell you that Igbo cannot be president. If all these tribes can be president, who among them is more qualified than an Igbo man. We are the salt of this nation; we are the best thing that happened to this nation.”
Kalu added, “Anything good comes from the East and we are the genuine easterners; unless we rule this country the country will never be okay.”
He dismissed recent reports in the media that Igbo were not united in their quest for 2015 Igbo presidency bid.
“That is just a figment of some people’s imagination. Whether they like it or not, we are more united now than ever before,” he said.
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing also shared in Orji’s views, saying “on Igbo presidency we stand come 2015”.
Former National President of the group Bismark Orji, said, “This time round we are very wise and we would not sing in discordant tunes again so that we don’t miss this opportunity.”
