Security agents on Saturday killed two men suspected to be members of the Boko Haram sect, while attempting to attack a post of the Joint Task Force (JTF) in Maiduguri, witnesses said.
Similarly, some gunmen equally killed a son of one of the prominent entertainers of the Shehu of Borno in a separate attack on the same day.
In the first incident, sources said JTF operatives repelled an attempted ambush by gun wielding men at a military post in Mafoni ward around 9.35 a.m.
The chief drummer, known as Sarkin Makada was earlier killed by unknown gunmen on Thursday, witnesses said.
“Most of the children of the late drummer fled because of fear of the unknown,” Baana Sheriff, a resident of the area said.
He said the attackers equally threw an explosive at a nearby communication company.
Borno State Police Commissioner, Yuguda Abdullah and the spokesman of JTF, Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa, confirmed the attacks.
