The Canadian Embassy in Abuja, on Friday, warned its citizens on the increasing protests over an anti-Islamic film produced in the United States.
The statement asked the citizens to be wary of places that could be prone to what was described as anti-Western demonstrations.
It noted that several embassies of Western countries had been attacked by the protesters.
The statement further urged Canadian citizens resident in areas where such demonstrations could take place, or those travelling to such areas, to take the necessary safety precautions.
“Dear fellow Canadians, anti-Western demonstrations are occurring in many parts of the world. Some demonstrations have turned violent, and Western interests, including some embassies and consulates, have been attacked,” it said.
