Abdullahi Was Backstabbing Jonathan — PDP
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kwara state chapter, has come out with a bold claim - attacking former Sports Minister, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi's loyalty when he served under President Jonathan.
The PDP Kwara State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Rex Olawoye released a statement saying they weren't surprised with Abdullahi’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday because he was an APC mole in President Goodluck Jonathan’s government.
He said that it might surprise people to know that Abdullahi had already registered secretly to the Kwara state chapter of the APC on February 8, 2014.
Olawoye said: “His latest ‘open declaration’ was only a façade to deceive unsuspecting members of the public. This development has therefore evidently confirmed the fear of well-meaning Nigerians, who raised the alarm then that Mallam Abdullahi, was planted in the cabinet of President Goodluck Jonathan by the opposition APC to sabotage the government of Nigeria from within. The good news, though, is that he was spotted by the Presidency way before he could do further damage to the government he pretended to be serving.
“On national development, there is no worst case of self-indictment than that of a man who served for an upward of four years as a Commissioner of Education to now turn around to lament over the quality of education in the state, and by extension, the country at large!
“What can Abdullahi point to as his concrete contributions to the socio-economic development of Kwara State in the last eight years that he presided over critical state and federal ministries and parastatals? How has he impacted on the lives of his people within the period that he held sway as both minister in charge of sports and the youths ministries?"
He then proceeded to ridicule the former Sports Minister, saying he would be a problem for any party he joins, and that Abdullahi has lots of controversies acquired through the years.
He warned the APC that Abdullahi has to first clean up his past before allowing him into the party's union, he said: “Abdullahi should be asked to seek the forgiveness of families of innocent public school teachers, who his obnoxious and draconian policies when he was Kwara State Commissioner of Education, sent to their earlier graves.”
Mallam Bollagi Abdullahi was the former Minister of Sports, but he got replaced by Jonathan after accusations came up saying that he was an APC spy in Jonathan's inner circle.
He was replaced by the current Sports Minister, Danagogo.
