Group Calls On Bankole To Contest For Ogun State Governorship Position

A group known as DSB Vanguard has called on the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, to contest in Ogun State upcoming governorship election.

 

Daily Independent reports that the group made the call in a statement issued by its coordinator, Adedayo Ayinde, on Tuesday in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The group in the statement noted that Ogun State needs the youthful, energetic and creative leadership style of Bankole. It said the state at this point in time, requires an astute and experienced politician with Bankole’s status to occupy the state’s number one seat come 2015.

 

The group, which reiterated its readiness to draw support for Bankole, urged him not hesitate any further before joining the race.

 

The group’s coordinator further assured the former speaker that he will mobilise taxi drivers and other motorists in the state by selling PMS to them at the cost of N70 per litre for a duration of 30 days at his petrol station.

Oladimeji Sabur Bankole is a politician and a former Speaker of the House of Representatives. He was born on 14 November 1969, to an Abeokuta Chief, Alani Bankole. He was a businessman before being elected to the House. Bankole was elected at the age of 37, making him the youngest Speaker in the history of the House of Representatives.
