Glasgow 2014: Okagbare Gets Nigeria Gold

Nigerian sprinter Blessing Okagbare has done the nation proud once more, winning the Women's 100 metres gold for Nigeria in the Commonwealth Games.

She beat her fellow competition with a time of 10.85 seconds in a new Games record, making second fastest woman record on the 100m.

She beat out fierce competition from Jamaica’s Veronica Campbell-Brown, Kerron Stewart and England’s Asha Phillip.

Congratulations Blessing, now wish her luck in her other races.

After 6 / 11 days of competitions Nigeria has a total of 10 medals. The biggest contribution so far has been done by our weightlifters
