Kelechi Iheanacho’s Father Speaks Afer Son's Debut In Man City

Kelechi Iheanacho’s brilliant debut match for Manchester City made the whole Nigeria and especially his father extremely proud.

Golden Eaglets star managed to score in the friendly match held Thursday against MLS champions Kansas City

The 17-year-old left-footed footballer, who demonstrated world-class performance at the Under-17 World Cup where he won the MVP Award with 6 goals and 7 assists, was targeted by numerous clubs, including FC Porto.

Following his first successful game in the squad, Iheanacho’s father, who is acting as his adviser and agent, is happy that he made a choice in favor of Manchester City. He was quoted saying by FC Naija:

"You know when some group of people are trying to drag Kelechi to FC Porto? I said no because I don’t want him to go to FC Porto but Manchester City. I believe God in heaven is with me and family as we prayed over it and decided that he should go to Manchester and by the grace of God he is performing well at the club."

It would be recalled that Iheanacho was signed for Man City in January, 2014, however, he is yet to receive a work permit in England when he will turn 18 in October and will be able to officially move to the Premier League.
