Germany Mastered A Secret Plan To Hold Lionel Messi

As Argentina look for a way to hold the German national team after watching them humiliate Brazil, the Germans have already mastered a secret plan to hold Argentines Star player Lionel Messi.

The German team had turned the host nation into crying babies, when they beat the Samba Boys 7-1 to advance to the finals.

Meanwhile in the other Semi final, Messi was relatively quiet as Argentina beat the Dutch team 4-2 in penalties after the game ended 0-0 in normal and extra times.

The Dutch team had been able to control Messi by covering him with two players anytime he even touched the ball in Sao Paulo.

German Assistant coach Hansi Flick said: “We saw how the Dutch managed to keep Messi out, but we too have a special plan for him — although I won’t give that away. We’re looking forward to meeting a compact, organised team and in Messi, they have one the outstanding players of the tournament. We know plenty about Argentina, Germany has to accept the role of favourites, but the final will write its own script.”

German defender Benedikt Hoewedes also talked about the way they will play against Messi. He said Argentine's #10 will be handled in the same way as Portugal's Ronaldo: “Messi is one of the best players in the world, but just as I said before the Portugal game when we faced Ronaldo, we have to defend as a team.”

“We have to stifle his opportunities to score goal and create dangerous situations.”

Striker Miroslav Klose said: “You can’t really make comparisons, Maradona was one player, but Messi is just as fantastic and they are absolutely on par.”

“We have to come up with a few surprises of our own and I am just looking forward to an exciting game, which will be marked by tactics and a bit of trickery.”

Germany is meeting Argentina at the World Cup for the sixth time. The teams have clashed once in the final. Last time they met in a friendly game, in which Messi scored and the Argentines won 3-1 over a ten-man Germany.

However, in the last World Cup game, Germany destroyed Argentina, winning the Diego Maradona-coached squad 4-0 in Cape Town during 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Nevertheless, the meeting in the final of a World Cup, Mexico 1986, resulted in a 3-2 victory for Argentina.
