Missing Chibok School Girls: 'Government Officials Should Be Removed From Office' - Borno Senator

Senator Khalifa Zanna, of Borno State, has said he doesn't think it is good for Nigeria's Government officials to remain in office if they cannot handle the security situation in the country which bothers everyone.

He made this known during an interview last weekend over the abduction of over 200 students from the Government Girls’ Secondary School, in Chibok, Borno on April 14th.

The senator said he doesn't think the Nigerian Military are in control of the security situation because even with their presence in the troubled areas, the killings and attacks by Boko Haram hasn't stopped even for a day.

According to him, if the Military were in control, some of the girls would have been discovered by now.

Senator Zanna said, "I am advising other States not to allow the military to get into their territories because, past experience has been very nasty. I can't advise any society to use the Nigerian police; sometimes they behave like ‘mad men'."

He added that most of the areas or the villages around major cities are infested with Boko Haram, and their sympathizers, and he feels there is need for a new strategy and a different approach for the girls to be returned safely to their families.

Expressing overall dissatisfaction with Nigeria and the path in which it is heading, the Senator said if care is not taken, Nigeria will not have a generation to produce anything.
