UN Hilux Vehicles Were Hijacked By Gunmen In Bauchi

The Nigerian Police Force informed on April 16, 2014, Wednesday that gunmen had snatched two Hilux vehicles belonging to the United Nations following an attack on Soro town in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The spokesperson, DSP Haruna Mohammed, revealed that the about 20 bandits were taking part in the operation in Soro town, on Bauchi – Maiduguri highway, on April 15, 2014, Tuesday, around 5pm.

Another Hilux van belonging to the Bauchi State Television Authority (BATV), number 04C – o4 BA, has also been hijacked.

The registration numbers of stolen U.N. vehicles are 206 UN, 139 UN.

The area had been cordoned off by the security operatives in an effort to arrest the fleeing suspects.

However, the Police command of Bauchi State shared some positive news: all the five persons, including a politician, a businessman and some health workers, had been released by their kidnappers.
