Keshi's Lawsuit: NFF President, Amaju Pinnick Reacts

The NFF boss, however, said the legal team of the NFF will be handling the lawsuit, adding that there were many programmes that could bring benefits to Nigerian football that the leadership of the NFF were more concerned about.

Speaking to Goal.com, Pinnick said: “Accordingly, the legal department of the Nigeria Football Federation has responded to the letter. We have a lot of things to bother ourselves about.”

“So we are thinking of taking Nigerian football forward and we are not thinking of going back. That is exactly what we are doing.

“Our concern is strictly Nigerian football and how to better what we met. We are not thinking of dragging into something that we know at this point does not hold water.

“So our lawyers have looked at it and have responded accordingly. We have a very good legal team and they have responded. The response is based on the fact of what they saw. That is what I can tell you about the matter for now,” Pinnick said.

Keshi is reportedly seeking compensation of $5million from the NFF for wrongful dismissal and defamation.

The former coach was sacked two weeks ago by the footballing body with reports suggesting he was relieved of his duties for seeking the vacant managerial role of the Ivory Coast national team.

The former Super Eagles midfielder, Sunday Oliseh was subsequently named as his replacement.
