Four People Killed In Borno Suicide Bomb Attack

A female suicide bomber blew herself up at a military checkpoint in the Sabon Gari area of Damboa, Borno State, killing at least four people and injuring others.

According to a security source, who is a leader of the civilian joint task force, the woman got out of the car and detonated the bomb. Among the deceased were two members of the JTF, who provide security in the terror-plagued northeast zone of Nigeria.

“At about 10:30 this morning, a female bomber wrapped up with explosive devices exploded herself at a checkpoint killing four people, including two members of civilian JTF,” the unnamed source told Sahara Reporters.

The suicide bombing is just the latest in a relentless wave of attacks the terror group has carried out this week. On June 30, Boko Haram fighters gunned down about 45 villagers in the northeastern town of Munguno. The next day, fighters killed about 100 in a nearby village.

Boko Haram has staged attacks every day since the new administration of Muhammadu Buhari began ruling. In a trio of coordinated attacks on the city of Jos, fighters set off suicide blasts at a church, then a mosque, then a restaurant, killing 44 people.
