According to Madrid-based newspaper AS, Ramos is upset that the club has allowed his contract to run down into its final two years and wants to leave 'Real Madrid now' with Manchester United being a preferable destination.

If Red Devils make the deal, their goalkeeper De Gea will switch places with his Spain team-mate Ramos.

It worth mentioning that it would be the biggest deal between the two clubs since Real signed Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.

Ramos, who joined Real Madrid in 2005, has a €200m buyout clause but the club bosses are likely to ask for around €65m for a player who has won all trophies for both club and country.

The 29-year-old footballer was reportedly dis with the dissatisfied with sacking of former coach Carlo Ancelotti and Real’s failure to give him the €10m-a-year contract renewal.

However, his current deal, which is worth €6m-a-season, has not been touched.

Meanwhile, Barcelona presidential candidate, Jord Majo, claimed to have been offered the chance to sign Ramos and the footballer is also unhappy that there was no 'hands-off' message from Real Madrid.

Manchester United are also ready to take Ramos this summer as their big European rivals sign their goalkeeper De Gea.
