Funny Reactions Of Nigerians To Election Postponement

Millions of Nigerians were getting ready to cast their votes in the presidential elections earlier scheduled for February 14, little did they know that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had other plans.

Nigerians were surprised, though not all, when INEC announced on Saturday evening, February 7, a week to the elections that it had been postponed by 6 weeks.

Prior to this, there’s been a lot of buzz about elections holding on February 14, which happens to be Valentine’s Day.

Some people especially the youth were not happy about this. Most of the girls were unhappy that their boyfriends would have an excuse not to spend on them on that special lovers’ day.

The guys on the other hand seemed to be happy that INEC did them a favour by scheduling the elections on Valentine’s day.

But since the postponement was announced, there has been a lot of funny reactions to this. There have been photos of guys lamenting.

A lot of mixed reactions have been trailing the postponement of the February general elections.  Many Legit.ng readers had taken to Facebook to express their opinion on the decision.

Meanwhile, in reaction, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) John E. K. Odigie-Oyegun, called the move “highly provocative”.
