Northern Group Reacts To Niger Delta Militants War Threat
The Northern Coalition for Good Governance has reacted to the recent war threat issued by the Niger Delta militants.
The Nation reported on Friday that the northern group condemned the war threat issued by the ex-militants, which promised that there will be war if President Goodluck Jonathan losses the February 14 presidential election.

The group’s Director of Research and Documentation, Dr. Ibrahim Baba, who spoke in Abuja after a protest at the Central District demanding for justice on 2011 post-election violence, said Nigerians should not allow the 2011 incidence to repeat itself.
The group posited that those people that were involved in 2011 post-election violence should be brought to book to face the full wrath of the law in order to ensure a violent free 2015 general elections.

Baba insisted that one of the ways to avert election violence is to prosecute those involved.
According to him, the group would stand against anybody or group trying to divide the country through religion, ethnicity or tribalism.
He pleaded with politicians to shun acts that could endanger the country’s democracy.
It would be recalled that the Niger Delta Ex-militants on Saturday threatened to unleash war if President Jonathan loses the February 14 presidential election.
Meanwhile, the threat by the ex-Niger Delta militants which has generated a lot of criticism from well meaning Nigerians across the country like the former minister of Defence, Theophilus Danjuma, who lambasted Asari-Dokubo, Tompolo and other former Niger Delta militants for threatening to plunge a war if Jonathan is not sworn-in come May 29, 2015, before the statement was officially condemned by the federal government who described it as 'reprehensible.'
However, in spite of reactions from concerned Nigerians over the issued war threat, Former Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) leader, Tompolo has restated the threat that there will be trouble should President Jonathan lose the February 14 election.
But as all these drama unfolds, Nigeria’s main opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has raised the alarm over what it describes as “fresh moves by anti-democratic forces to use the courts to postpone or scuttle next month’s general elections”.
