13-Year-Old Female Suicide Bomber Was Paraded In Kano

The Nigerian Police and the Department of State Service (popularly called SSS) paraded a 13-year-old female suicide bomber jailed in the wake of attack on Kano textile market.

The suspect female bomber, who named herself as Zaharau, said to be a resident of Bauchi. The girl told journalists in Kano that she was recruited into the vicious act by her father.

According to SaharaReporters, Babban Gida was arrested opposite Kantin-Kwari textile market, the scene of a major explosion two weeks ago, in which two female suicide bombers detonated explosives, killing many.

The suspect, Zahra'u Babban Gida, says she was kidnaped from Bauchi State.

Kano State Commissioner of Police Alhaji Tashid Aderile Shinaba says officers arrested the girl based on suspicion of her movements. She was later taken to headquarters for investigation, where the police were joined by operatives of the State Security Service.

Suspected Boko Haram militants have already twice targeted Kano with deadly attacks.

The blast at Kano textile market took the life of 6 people, including 2 female suicide bombers on Wednesday, December 10th.

Seven people sustained injuries and were transported to the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital.

This bombing came days after the horrible attack on Kano Central Mosque, which claimed hundreds of lives.

In one of his recent videos the leader of terrorist Abubakar Shekau has threatened to attack the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II.
