2015: Buhari Expected To Declare October 8

With the 2015 presidential elections approaching, ex military head of state Muhammadu Buhari is expected to officially declare his interest on October 8.

Sahara Reporters provides with reference to its source that Buhari, who ruled Nigeria from December 1983 to August 1985, already consulted with his political aides and decided to run for  presidency for the 4th time.

According to the source, the member of the major Nigeria's opposition party All Progressives Congress (APC), Buhari was said to have made all the preparations for the declaration, which is expected to be made on October 8 at the Eagle Square in Abuja.

It was learnt that the former military head had intended to announce his decision some weeks ago but had to shift his plans because of a trip to Europe.

Buhari's posters with the inscriptions "Nigeria-Wise Up 2015”, “General Buhari For President” started flooding the streets of Lagos about a week ago.

Another key APC candidate, former Nigeria's Vice-President Atiku Abubakar declared his interest on Wednesday, September 24. In his speech Atiku promised to fix Nigeria.

Meanwhile the official declaration is yet expected from the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan. However the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) already adopted Jonathan as a sole candidate from the party on September 18.

PDP's primaries are scheduled for December 6.
